What we collect
- Your name, as your group knows you.
- A mobile number or email address, so we can reach you.
- Your answers — in, out, or conditional — and when you gave them.
- Delivery results from carriers, so we know whether a message arrived.
That's it. No location, no contacts, no browsing history, no advertising identifiers.
How we store it
Phone numbers are stored as a keyed hash rather than in the clear wherever the raw number isn't needed to deliver a message. Access links are signed and expire. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Who sees what
Other members of your group can see your name and your answer for events you've both been invited to. They cannot see your phone number or email.
Your organiser can additionally see who hasn't answered.
We don't see members of groups you aren't in, and groups can't see each other.
Who we share it with
Only the providers needed to deliver a message — a messaging carrier and an email provider — and only the minimum required to deliver it. We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. Ever.
How long we keep it
Answers are kept while the group is active so organisers can see attendance history. Leave a group and your answers are removed from it. Delete your account and everything associated with you is deleted within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain records of messaging consent.
Messaging consent records
If you opt in to text messages we record what you agreed to and when. Carrier rules require us to be able to demonstrate consent, so these records are kept even after you opt out.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any message to stop texts immediately.
- Set yourself to occasional to stop reminders but keep the poll.
- Set yourself to watching to receive nothing at all.
- Email us to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you.
Children
Down to Go isn't intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
